Check out Sinisa's amazing new lesson, "http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Chorus-Lead/", and then post a reply to today's topic.
How fast can you play 16th notes on one string (one fret only)? (tremolo picking in other other words)

Yes - hand and pick!
(If you you can reach impressive guitar speeds with any other part of your body - I'd love to hear about it as well though! )

Not noway near as quick as I'd like to be...! But when it comes to eating donuts I'm the fastest in the West !!
I noticed the heart in the GMC logo... I do hope us instructors can expect a Valentine's card from you Kris ?

If I could speed pick with some other part of my body I would probably have a whole line of women pounding down my door right now

I'd like to take you up on that challenge... even if I lose it will be a good day

this I am fast at 240 bpm ,4 notes per click on the b string starting with the d note to c to b to c and just repeat like a bat out of hell hear is my problem, if I need to switch strings with a different pattern, this I suck at and I slow down to 130 to 150 on a good day
Posted by: Daniel Realpe Feb 13 2011, 11:30 PM
This is slow for me

It's too bad he doesn't actually play anything. Picking at that speed is one, playing at that speed is something else. Of course, as has been said often, speed for it's own sake is pointless. As far as guys actually playing crazy fast, the paul gilbert solo from the Racer X live album still stands out.

Here is a vid of him all the way back in 1987 doing bits from the same solo (actually has vid)
That guy doing the bumble bee thing for the Guiness book was pretty impressive but he was playing the same thing every time.
My very first youtube lesson ever was mostly about speed. It was horrible quality and a bad recording but it's still my highest viewed video to date. Go figure?

I agree with Todd. If you are playing faster then you can think, are you really playing at all. Still pretty amazing stuff though...

Big fan of Paul, and what I heard there was sickening. Mind-blowing technique. Cheers for the inspiration, Todd.

Xaxa, guys, you reminded me of some long ago shots, while I was taken of too much technique! Whether it has or does not make sense .. hmm ... judge for yourself

OUCH !! I swear I saw some smoke coming from your hands there...
Some of your licks remind me of Chris Poland, which is always a good thing !

Killer technique Sinisa - very few people have that legato flow (which Poland does so well). I think a lot of people would want to see a more shreddy lesson from you as well
