Hi Pedja,

just a quick blurb about me.

I'm 30, live in southeast england. My job is a guitar teacher (which i love); I work in a couple of private schools (4 days a week) and teach from home in the remaining time. most of my pupils are from 6-18 and are a mixed bag from debut up grade 8.

i studied a-level music and then went on to acm and studied guitar there where some good tutors but not much contact time.

i didnt play much after collage, just taught and played gigs with my band. although have recently got back into it again

most of my play has been funk and blues some jazz. played with some big bands and know some chord melodies.

my weak points are reading and my ear although i can get by...

even though the above are my weak points i was really hoping to work on some chord melodies and jazz improvising through chords.

i'm really looking forward to getting stuck in. & learning with you...

do you need me to post up a video of me playing?

kieran

Hi Kieran,

Thank you for this great introduction. Video or audio of your playing would help a lot. We can work on chord melodies and jazz improvising no problem, I just want to hear where you are at currently. I will open your MTP thread later today. Look forward to your recording.

Pedja

Hi Pedja,

had 10-15 min today when popped back so put together a quick video.

I just played over Autumn Leaves (J. Mercer)

Did A little chord melody I put together and then a walking bassline. The camera ran out part way through I'm afraid.

Its a bit warts and all I'm sorry to say, I missed the F#dim chord and did somthing horrible on the walking bassline blink.gif but yeah you get the idea. unsure.gif

youtube

I also did a solo over the chords, and I'll put that up later.

Kieran

**edit**

Heres the solo... didn't really prepare it just what kind of came out, again just a run through Autumn Leaves once...

Autum Leaves solo

Hope it gives you some sort of insight as to where I am.

TBH I'm not overly happy with the recordings but ce la vie
