Not so much a song that's taking me away, but I've been having a bit of a bad time lately so have just been playing acoustic guitar the entire time. I haven't touched my electric for over a month. Saying that I'm now a finger picking maestro.

Edited for language - Tony on and for the moderators

Working on Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and Cemetery Gates, but Cemetery Gates is an assignment from my guitar teacher so it isn't really a diversion.

I'm currently working on a few vai and satriani songs, they pretty much take a great part of my practice time..

Vai - The crying machine
Vai - For the love of god
Satriani - Love thing
Satriani - Always with me, always with you
Satriani - summer song

and i'm also busy with trond's version of Canon Rock

Edit: Also playing Gary Moore - The loner, but i can do that one already just play it a lot for fun laugh.gif

Evergrey's song "Still Walk Alone".

Got most of the riffs down, But the solo is a a bit tricky, Last 3 or 4 measures are evading my efforts.

I recommend the tooth and nail solo for anyone who needs practice in tapping, and legato... not to mention that last speed picking run for picking...

this solo has it all, excellent for practicing all those techniques
hammer ons, pulloffs, speed picking, tapping and excellent scale movement all over the fretboard, it has opened my eyes to alot of stuff

I love George Lynch's style. Especially his legato!! smile.gif My problem is that there is always another GMC lesson I want to start before I can play the one I am working on. laugh.gif laugh.gif Guitar is a neverending quest. No matter how good you get you always feel like a beginner. Then, when I start to think I am getting pretty good all I have to do is check out any of the GMC lessons and think about just collecting stamps for a hobby. laugh.gif laugh.gif
