Hi again tongue.gif
I´m probably boring everyone now, but I need to talk about my amp again.

After playin´ the JVM in my localmusicstore yesterday, i was just blown away.

There are 3 different models:

215c: 1x12 Cabinet, 50 W

205c: 2x12 Cabinet, 50 W

210c: 2x12 Cabinet, 100 W

50 Watt is enough for me. So I need to decide between the one with one or the one with two cabinets.

Advantages/disadvantages?

I would appreciate any kind of help:)

Cheers

You mean one or two speakers? More speakers is always better, so I think the 2x12 combo will play great, but it will be considerably heavier. If you plan to carry it around a lot, then maybe the 1x12 is better option, but if you need a better sound in one heavier box, get 2x12. If I'm not mistake, 2x12 combo has side handlebars for easy carrying, so that's a good thing.

2x12 cab will give you more powerful and full (with lots of low end) sound! It will sound much better then 1x12 cab..It will be heavier but then again such amps are usually meant to be carried by more then one person..If its not a drastic price difference that means to you , go with 2x12 cab 50 W..

Cheers

I JUST BOUGHT A JVM 410 HALFSTACK!!! and it's awesome! (Thread with pics coming up...)

I would suggest to buy the 205 50 watt head and a small cab (2x12), it sounds waaaay better than a combo...

My vote on the head+combo option, it's more flexible.

Head+combo? tongue.gif

I talked to Zakk yesterday. Discussing the 205 H and maybe a used 2x12 Box.

I´ll look out for some good deals and then see what has to be done! smile.gif

If your going with the combo go with the 215c. It will be easier to haul around than the 2x12 combo. IMO the 50 watt Marshall's sound better than the 100 watters and the difference between the 2 cranked is really only a gain of 3 db's.

Marshall's sound their best when run into a celestion loaded 4x12 cab. You will be able to do this with the combo. Just make sure the impedance settings match so as to not ruin your amp.

I agree with a couple of posters that I would get the head and not a combo because the tubes in a combo really take a beating. Heads weigh less and the cool themselves better because the tubes are on top of the chassis instead of hanging below. Heat rises after all it makes sense. With a head you can mix and match cabs with different speakers to shape your sound.

Good luck and I know you'll love playing through a Marshall. I've tried many amps and I always end up back with Mr. Marshall.

2x12 all the way. You'll get a lot wider sound spread from it.

You can connect a cabinet to it later on if you want different speakers so from that aspect it's no different from a head.
I almost always frefer a head before a combo for a couple of reasons. In a head the valves are more protected compared to a combo where they rest inside the vibrating box. I suspect a head is healtier on the tubes that way.
