Yup. The new M1x macbooks are almost here. They claim a 70% increase in speed over the first M1 series macs. Which is quite a claim as the m1 was pretty darn fast as it was. So multiple streams of 4k video should be a breeze. Also finally multiple displays are supported including 3 4k monitors and a big 4k HDTV. Multiple monitors are a key requirement for many pros. It's only been about a year since the M1 came out and they are already being overshadowed by this release.

They start about 2k or double what the first m1 laptops. They claim the M1x is 4 times faster than the previous intel laptops. 13 times faster graphics. I gotta see some benchmarks. Finally 64gb of ram will be supported. So enough ram for every power user. Massive VST libraries could be loaded and used with zero lag.

Whaddya think? I'm hoping it drives the price of m1 laptops down smile.gif

This could be a huge deal for folks doing music and video. If the performance really is this good, these laptops can easily replace the fastest mac desktops and allow users to have huge track counts and multiple monitors and real time editing of 4k footage with effects. Groundbreaking speed.
