Sometimes guitar gear can have uses other than making music. For instance, I've been placing a bag of marshmallows on top of the vents on a tube amp, and after about twenty minutes of rocking out they come out nice and toasty... cooked by heavy metal tongue.gif

So do you have any unconventional uses for your guitar gear?

My capo keeps my girlfriends mouth shut pretty well when she starts to complain. Does that count? smile.gif

Thats a great idea biggrin.gif I do something similar... when I go trap shooting I use a soft guitar bag as a shotgun case, theres even room in there for about a hundred rounds tongue.gif

MUDBONE: Now that is clever about the gig bag! I've got a snub 38 so it and a box of ammo fits like a glove in the Mandolin case. I suspect that we may be two of the few gun owners on the site now that I think about it. I gather the gun laws in Europe are quite a bit tougher than here in the states.

You must get quite a few looks down at the range when you show up Desperado style lool I use a pistol grip combat shotgun with a heat-shield for trap shooting and the guys at the range ask me if I'm looking for some zombies to waste tongue.gif

Some countries in Europe have pretty lax gun laws, like Switzerland and the Czech Republic. In fact its not uncommon to see the Swiss carrying their rifles over their shoulders down to the range.

You're right mudbone! Every adult in Switzerland (at least the men) has to have a gun, it's even in the law smile.gif
As for Germany, it's pretty hard to get a gun abd most people don't really care about guns anyway.
As for the topic, I sometimes use my picks as screwdriver replacements!

Thats too bad, as Germany makes some AMAZING firearms biggrin.gif, like Heckler & Koch and SIG Sauer (Swiss/German company)

I used to use a pick in the battery compartment of my cell phone in order to make it work! smile.gif)

Nah, if you want to carry a sniper rifle around the town in the case - start playing bass! smile.gif

That is funky about Germany and Gun laws as you mentioned they make some KILLER guns. They make some of the best arms and armor in the world. The Leopard 2 for example is one of the best, if not, the best Main Battle Tanks in the world. The gun is so good, we Americans buy them for use on our M1A1 Main Battle Tank. smile.gif (M256 120 mm smoothbore cannon developed by Rheinmetall AG of Germany for the Leopard 2)

I didn't know the Swiss were so in to guns. They have great Heavy Metal and from the sound of it, lots of gun ranges. Another mark up for Europe. It seems clear I'm going to have to relocate to Europe at some point smile.gif Would love to live in Germany, Switzerland, maybe Finland or Holland. Great music scenes, in every one.
