Hey guys!

I'm not posting very frequently but here's some insight I've had, obvious things but applying them isn't that obvious tongue.gif

I'll take myself as an example to demonstrate: my alternate picking isn't good. I'm having great trouble descending a major scale for instance (I practice it with 3 notes per string on 2,5 octaves)... But when I practice it most of the time I don't focus on that particular part of my playing. Instead I practice both ascending and descending for the same amount of time, which isn't that efficient.

What I should be doing is focusing on only descending for a week or two, to bring it up to where my ascending skills are currently.

You see the picture...

---

Still the routine idea is very good, I agree completely

It doesn't matter how much time you spend if you don't know the correct things to do, and the correct way of doing those things. Fifteen minutes of correct practice will do you more good, than 5 hours of incorrect, unintelligent practice. Bad practice just makes you better at playing badly!
