My curiosity over these pedals has been sparked by watching Mike Einziger play various Incubus songs (Pardon Me, Wish You Were Here). I couldn't help but wonder how he fluidly changes tones with multiple effects attached without stumbling over pedal switching. I figured it was an ABY box connected to two different amps with effects chains attached.

I was looking at this pedal:

Little Lehle Loop Switcher

Any Help???? I'm trying to manage two effects chains for two different sounds from one amp.

You would need a splitter or ABY box to sends
your guitar signal to both fxs chains at the same time.
After that you would need another ABY box after all effects,
you use 2 inputs (one from each fxs chain) and then from box's output into your amp.
On ABY box that goes after fxs chains you'll be able to decide
which fxs chain goes to your amp.
That's how I would do it anyways. smile.gif

edit: seems odd but it's quite easier to do it on 2 different amps instead of one,
you would need just one ABY box before effects and that's all.

I use Boss Line Selector stomp for this, just got it recently:

Does a great job and can serve as a neutral boost as well. Great options, two FX loops, lots of patching abilities, it can even serve as a 2 channel mixer. A must have stomp "tool" for any musician with lots of gear/stomps.

I really recommend looking into stuff from Road Rage.
They got all sorts of loopers/ab's/switchers and other controllers.

They sell kits too which cost a lot less than a Lehle, and switcher arent hard to make since there's no circuit boards.
I got a switcher from then, and i can really vouche for the quality of the components/casings. (If you build yourself, the durability of the wires/connections is more dependant on yourself though.)

have you noticed any tone loss with the pedal not being true bypass?

I haven't experienced any audible tone coloration with this pedal. It is very transparent. Boss pedals in general are coloration-free pedals when switched off.

If you refer to tone loss as loudness of the signal, true bypass pedals are the ones that are actually causing this. All pedals with buffered circuits are putting out strong signal.
