In both vids he needs to tune his guitar better. I can't really get past that.

I agree with everything that Todd, Ken and Monica said here. The cool thing is that his composition is interesting so now he should focus on basics, and expressing techniques in order to make it sound more convincing.
I don't only thing that he needs tune or calibrate his guitar, he needs to work on vibrato, alternate picking, dynamics, bending, and why not, polishing his guitar tone. I can hear Morse/Purple vibes here... By the way, why are you asking Victor? -------------------- My lessons

I am asking this because I like to take an in depth look at guitar playing, analyzing the style and to get a better understanding of music. I think most people won't notice those details. How can one improve if his ears will not notice the details? I will share 2 other songs from the band. I like the guitar in those. Trooper they are singing in Romanian, I think it will be interesting to hear a language that is different for you. Let me know what you think. It can take many ears to be able to identify the things that we are marking here, but I think that you are on the right track by asking and getting curious about this. These are some tips to train your ear: - Use any ear training app for diary practice. Oddly, for a "professional", he's still got tuning problems on the clean toned parts in video #1.
