Just finished cleaning up my new guitar..
A little backstory.
10 or 15 years ago my father owned this guitar and back then I had no particular interest in playing guitar. I could play some chords but there were other things on my mind at 15.
anyways, some bad times came for my father and he was forced to get rid of the guitar. The guitar had been around some people and ended up with my fathers (and my) friend. He always wanted to learn to play guitar and apparently he got a good deal for it..
anyways, he never caught on so the guitar just sat there. unhappy in her little stand glazing over upon what could have been.
Needless to say, 10 years of moving around from house to house, sitting in smoke filled rooms which were never dusted she became a shadow of her former self, and i am not joking when i tell you that her fretboard was completely gray with dust..
Then on my vacation that is just about to end (tomorrow in fact ) i visited my father and together we went to our mutual friend. There she was waiting and i asked him about the guitar.. I said something like: "what are you doing? i am taking her home with me"
He said alright, and i got her for ~£100 with a small 10w fender amp to go with it (to the dismay of my girlfriend.. "but honey, you already have 4 guitars".. hahahahahahaha)
Anyways.. here are some pictures.. what do you think??
Nice story indeed
And a great looking guitar, congratulations man!
Good story Gongrats on the "new" guitar, looks great
Interesting story! And the guitar is beautiful! Enjoy it!
Samick SE? Looks cool man!
I saw some of these when I lived in the NW USA. That guitar looks pretty good. How does it play?
It is a beauty
I think that it may be a pre 1998 Samick HJ650 (ie it's based on a Gibson L5). Samick btw are a very big guitar manufacturer and have been around for quite a few years and generally well regarded.
Nice looking guitar!
