DWEEZIL ZAPPA Making Of "Dinosaur" Episode 1
That was friggin awesome! I wanted to hear more about how this was put together but I could only find 1 other episode on the making of the song.
Before I really knew what I was listening to, while listening for the first time, the first thing that came to me after getting about halfway through the track is that there are a lot of really great sounding guitar tones, and they just kept coming! The genius of Frank Zappa is still alive, thanks to Dweezil!
Thanks a ton for the share, Mertay!
Cool! was starting to think I'm the only one liking such wacky stuff
+1 on the guitar sounds. 2 notes I'd like add is;
I've always felt tape recording adds something to the guitars tone making it harder to replicate. What I mean is not like the vibe you get by recording an album with tape but something subtle to the instrument itself (like a super gentle overdrive). I tried tape plug-ins on my DI guitars but never got close enough, might be romantic but such vibe is probably ment for classic albums...
Also, these fx and routings were very fresh ideas at the time. This also means they were never inspired by anything when musically used, in a creative mind I find this to be a huge advantage.
Great hare Dweezil is a very creative guy to be sure. here is a rare gem from back in the 80's where he is playing and his SISTER is taking of Vocals!!! This was in rotation on MTV forever. Anybody remember this or ever seen it? Great solo in it
