Hi all!

Another anniversary post, this time by me! I haven't introduced myself yet even though I was one of those people greeting the newcomers like mad in every introductory topic (and yeah that's what builds up my 500 posts mainly... blink.gif

So, my name is Bernat Ivancsics (yup, another Balkan origin but from way back in history... ohmy.gif ), I've been living in the Hungarian capital (Budapest) ever since, which is right in the middle of Europe.

On GMC I've spent around 8 months or so now but my journey with the queen of all instruments started 1 year ago when I got my first cheap electric as a late Xmas present and started to learn different stuff by tabs and ear. Then I wanted to learn Crazy Train solo by Rhoads and I found Kris on freelicks. Then I navigated here but had to wait until my birthday to have the chance to sign up. dry.gif Anyway, here I am and I'm not planning to leave for some centuries now on...

So two days ago I grabbed my toneport and my father's camcorder to shoot some of my takes of GMC vids and two solo covers that have been my favourites for a long time. Audio is recorded live but separately with garageband so I could deliver a bit better quality and your ears might not bleed hopefully. I hope that my YT channel is going to be busy from now on! cool.gif

Anyway, if you have some spare time, please check them out (8 vids altogether that I have chosen from about 50 GMC lessons and 20-40 solos and song-shards I can play decently) and critics are ALWAYS welcome, since I still consider myself as a beginner-intermed (comparing myself to GMC staff and all members with great skills...)

You'll find the address in my signature at the bottom of this post!

But I'll include two vids here just to make it more comfortable. biggrin.gif

Gabriels melodic shred solo (I just had to learn this...)

DT solo Repentance:

Oh, I guess I'll have to say a HUGE thanks to the GMC community as well... but that's obvious! wink.gif

cheers
berko

Congrats on your 1 year. Your videos are really nice. smile.gif If you can play like this just after 1 year then I can't wait to see your video after 2yrs. wink.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Thanks everyone! Really great to hear that and I hope 2009 will be as rich in guitar as it was this year!

The guitar is a Schecter Omen 7 Extreme (basically a relatively low budget 7string but I like it because the neck is really comfortable - it was even more better to play on it than it had been on my first 6 string ohmy.gif )

Guitar sound is one of the "heavy guitar" gearbox 3 presets that I modified. (The model amp is the Brit J 800).

so thanks again I really appreciate all comments smile.gif
