Jul 29 2013, 11:50 AM	Instructor Posts: 22.808 Joined: 14-June 10 From: Bucharest	I see things exactly like you said - experimentation is the best way to achieve things The holy grail of tones is a neverending quest and the only thing that I can tell you at this point - because I have no experience with guitar emulating software - is that the tone is too nasal somehow, I would make it a bit brighter and warmer - maybe reduce the mids a bit more? Of course, experimenting with various amp types. You could then make a comparison of between more tone types with just ONE phrase in the lesson, so that you may see which one fits best Anyway, take care of those bends mate - there are a few which are under the pitch. The first bend sequence is the hardest part to me, I never seem to get it right I've practiced it a lot but it needs a lot more, I'm also starting to make another version of this using the backing track and making my own "similar" piece. Intention - you have to make me believe that those notes are there for a reason - I am not convinced - as a listener - yet Put more conviction and feel into what you play and it will sound 10 times better! The only thing which could be improved, is the last bend You drowned a little bit before reaching the shore It's an old Romanian saying, that underlines the fact that you did great almost till the end, but you made that little mistake. My 6 string guitar's pickups are broken, they make extreme static noise and so on. It's been getting progressively worse. It's sad. I started practicing this and it's a really nice line. I might be able to do one recording of this and practice this for a few days before the pickups make it impossible to play at all on that guitar. I wonder could we proceed with this mentoring anyway? It's not perfect I still haven't figured out how to finger the second chorus line and make the vibrato work well on the higher frets but I find it easier to bend on this guitar actually. I thought it was impossible when I tried a few days ago. I guess hearing the notes clearly due to the better pickups makes it easier to hit closer to target pitch! Now for the second part - work a bit more as it lacks a bit of flow. What I'd like to point out: 01:29 and 01:36 -> awesome vibrato! That's the way to go, my brother! I've added frank gambale's chop builder to my training repertoir and I noticed that I can play scales in two ways, with a very relaxed arm/hand and with a more ridig hand. So I hear that relaxing is better, but how much is too much? My whole hand moves a bit and helps play the scale if I play as relaxed as is comfortable(on the 8 string) but if I play more ridig my fingers move less which is also something that people say is good. So relaxation over minimized movement? Which should I prioritize? Sorry if this is not articulation related, still working on the songs every day and getting better and better! It's not bad man - there are some places in which the pitches are not quite there and as a general observation, I can notice that you aren't yet used to playing the piece on the 8 string, as the overall feeling is a bit rigid Take your time to get used to the feeling that this guitar has and adapt your playing to it - anyway, the voice1 sounds better than the voice 2.
