Hey dudes,

What do you think of the 15 W tiny terror tube amp, did anyone of you played one of these!? I just played it at a friend of mine and it has greeeeat tone, especially at lower volumes, cause it can be turned down to 7 Watts. I think it can compare with my Marshall JVM, because you can jsut crank it, though it´s a totaly other kind of feeling and tone.

What do you guys think of it? Any impressions!?

Cheers

a friend has on and I played it also on stage. That thing can get ultra loud with a nice 2x12 cab (blows your drummer away) and sounds awesome. Dial in a crunch sound and boost it with a good pedal and you are in british tone heaven. The sound is really british though not an american highgain sound. For highgain you have to crank the thing and then it blows but it sounds differnt than your smooth super highgain american boutique amp. I like it better though

It's a good amp, although I'd rather buy the Vox Night Train smile.gif
That's also 15W head, and you can switch it down to 7...
I like the sound way better in that head than the tiny terror, but that's personal taste for you smile.gif

There are some new models of the Tiny Terror called the Dual terror which is switcheble between 30/15 watts and the hardwire tiny terror i do not know what is special about this is costs about 230 euros more then the standard tiny terror and is also switcheble 15/7 watts with one channel. The dual terror has 2 channels and costs only slightly more the the standard one.

Yup I own one. I run it through an Avatar 212 Cabinet. I love it a lot but I personally hate the way it takes distortion/overdrive pedals. Just my opinion. Maybe its got something to do with it only having one channel. Oh and honestly 15/ watts really makes close to NO difference. If it's loud when you have it at 15 it's still gonna be loud at 7. Not really an attenuator. Gives it a tiny tiny bit different gain voice, but i think it's really just a gimmick.

I did like the tone of the tiny terror quite a bit. It's warm and dirty. But it's for rock, not metal. The night train goes in the same direction from what I've heard. But I think I would get the Blackstar HT-5 instead of the tiny terror. It's cheaper, and more versatile. Having 15 instead of 5 watts doesn't change much anyway.

Correct, I have an amp that will run 5 or 15, and the difference is only slight in volume. The increase in volume with increased wattage is logarithmic, not linear. You have to increase wattage by 10 times to double the volume, that is, it would take 50 watts to sound twice as loud as a 5 watt.

I personally don't like distortion pedals that much. They don't seem to have that growl and punch of a proper higain amp. I think those blackheart amps are mostly for playing blues and old school rock. And they get very loud until they distort. It's just 5 watts, but without master volume. wink.gif
