Very informative vid from the Cracking the Code Series. Been around for a while but worth a rewatch. He breaks it down in simple terms. Fix your pick angle, throw in some legato notes, bam shred time.
...and beginners might think this is the key to learning to play fast... which it really is not.
It is an amazing video anyway though, with some game changing advice if you have been working on your picking chops for a while - and feel stuck.
Well said It's really just a video about improving one's precision. Speed is just a byproduct that comes with repetition/practice. It's a great vid for showing how econ picking and legato fit in to playing. It was after I got a handle on Econ picking that things really clicked for me. Add in a bit of practice and next thing I know, shredding it easy as pie. Well, when I say " a bit" I worked on econ picking for a few months before it started feeling natural and that was after having been playing for a few years. For those starting out, this will show you a good path to tread. It won't make you Yngwie over night
