ANYONE PLAY A GAME THAT THEY ENJOYED IN 2021? OR IS IT JUST ME?

It's been a while since we picked up a new game. The last one we bought that I really liked and thought was worth the price was RDR2.
We have probably every COD except for the latest and the one before that so we will probably pick those up at some point. Unless they don't have a campaign mode in which case we will pass.

I would love to see a new Half Life game created for Playstation.

The recent trend seems to be just dropping the campaign which I think is just a travesty. It's all leaning toward battle royale and death match type games which I get bored with really quickly. The free cell phone games that feature battle royale style play have started influence console game development. getting more and more rare to find a good campaign to play.

The latest CALL OF DUTY has a KILLER campaign but it's a bit shorter than I'd like. Certainly not as long as previous versions. Id say it's worth a rental, assuming you have a place to rent from, you can always try gamefly.com for mail rentals. Its' what i use as games are so pricey now that many are just not worth owning.

Microsoft buys ACTIVISION for $69 BILLION.

Yup. Now every Blizzard Activision game is now an Microsoft product. Call of duty an everything else that goes with it. Microsoft has always struggled to gain traction in the gaming space and now they don't have to try. They just spent major bank and bought up a major player.

That's good to hear. Without a campaign, I'm just not interested. My competitive gaming days are long over although I still enjoy it from time to time within the bounds of my own network. Haven't done online competitive gaming since Counter Strike. I need a good story to immerse myself into. Without that, Fps games just aren't worth it.
I do need to try rentals instead of wasting money on pricey games that I end up not liking or playing.

I started playing Elden Ring when it came out, just the tutorial and 5 minutes of the game, then kinda didn't play for 14 days and came back to it. I had forgotten what I was supposed to do, so I needed a quick guide to get me back on the right path (to get a horse, be able to level up etc). But I've played for 3½ hours total now and I'm really enjoying it, though I've gotten nowhere really.

I'm not much of an action combat kinda guy, but it did give me an adrenaline rush beating an enemy that killed me 10 times in a row. It wasn't even a boss fight, just a regular enemy horse solder something.

Ye sometimes it do be like that, often the story is spoken through item descriptions. One tip, always exhaust the dialogue options, often npc have more than the initial line.
On the map you also have this golden line which are like the flow of grace that leads you to main bosses

Yeah, I don't know if you have a map at first, as I didn't open it untill I got the first map piece. I thought the map button was M and nothing opened when I clicked that. When I found the first map piece it said to click G. I also had not gotten the first scene with Melina at that point or even spoken to the first merchant, so I was just running around in the wrong direction a bit lost when I came back after 14 days without remembering what had been said in the beginning.

From playing endless amounts of RPGs I know to talk NPCs more than once biggrin.gif

Im playing THE WITCH QUEEN which was just released as the final chapter in DESTINY 2 which I've been playing for half a decade at this point. It's cool to see how the game has grown over such a long period of time. it was one of the first games I got when i first got a PS4. As consoles are becoming kinda pointless these days in light of network/stream gaming sorta taking over, it may be the last AAA title I ever buy. It is hands down the best looking PS4 game I've ever seen.

To wit, here comes LUNA online gaming from amazon prime. PC, MAC, tablet, etc. Network speed is the only real determinate for game quality at this point. Unlimited horsepower is available on the server side so one just doesn't need it on the client side.
