Hello Muris

Here on GMC I find it easy to find plenty of lessons on AP etc.

One of things I find hard however when doing fast alternate picking runs is what I know as 'outside picking'. Places
where I for example have to play a downstroke on the D string and then an upstroke on the G string.
I think it would be a nice subject to go in depth with in a lesson. Both because it can be a tricky thing in normal alternate picking, but also because it can be a technique applied by itself.

You can use string skipping and other things to increase the difficulty for example.

Paul Gilbert on Outside picking - Some inspiration

I chose to post it here for you because you're the technical guru on the site so to speak tongue.gif ..
But feel free to suggest it to some of the other instructors if you think that's a better idea.

Anyways, hope you like this idea

Edit:

Ah I just remember that you're in Australia - oh well the suggestion still stands

Hello GMC!

For the introduction, my name is Mathis Isaksen and I'm a 19 year old boy from Denmark - Slagelse.
I've been playing guitar for 2 years time now and I'm still full of spirit ^^ (As if that would ever run out).
I've known GMC for quite a while, and been tempted to join many times. Now my urge has finally given in - and I'm already amazed about the amount of content + the community (first glance).

January 2010 I'm going to a danish musical 'højskole'. It basically means that I will be spending 5 months living there along with other musicians of various levels (beginners to probably very skilled players tongue.gif). You could think of it as kind of a musical school, which also has focus on personal development etc.

Anyways, I'm very much looking forward to this, and it is also one of the reasons I finally decided to pop in here. To use the remaining time to intensify my practicing and shave off some of the rough edges you get when playing too much by yourself biggrin.gif.

I've seen there is something called a MTP program. I was wondering if anyone could provide some information on how that works? A link will suffice if such a thing exists wink.gif.

Oh well, looking forward to rock with you in the future wink.gif
Mathis
