Hey, i wrote a new song for my band and tried some cool chords ideas.
Now im playing an A-Powerchord, but not with the ocatve. i played the 7 step of the a major scale instead of the octave.
is this a A5 add7 chord?
cause the a major scale is: A B C# D E F# G# A
and if i use A E and G# it must be a 7th chord?
it confused me cause i dont use a third.
thanks for help!
I think you can call it like that mate. It's a 7th chord with no third. Bare in mind that minor chords usually have minor 7th, so this major 7th note suggests a major 7th chord (major third - C#)
okay thanks and before i am playing this chord there is a c#5 chord. so you're right. it must be a major 7th chord without the 3rd.
helps me a lot!
You got it! Cheers mate
