Task 47: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Uli-Jon-Roth-Style/

I don't think our Warriors are around at the moment due to computer / work reasons but just in case you guys do get some time I've chucked a Task down for you, which is one of my own ! smile.gif

(I don't think we've done this one have we ??)

If you do get time for some Germanic leads then great.. if not, I'll roll it over for when you guys are ready for it !!

Cool to see this lesson at the Temple! I tried this solo about a half-year back but wasn't able to complete it do to the fast harmonic minor AP runs. I set it as a benchmark lesson for myself. It will be interesting to see If I can play those licks now.

As mentioned, I might not be able to dig into this right away... but soon I will. smile.gif

I am very familiar with this lesson. There are a couple of parts that are still too fast for me at this point.

I should mention that I have managed to break my E string while practicing this lesson, more precisely at the very end with the 1 1/2 step bend-release-bend. Twice at the same spot!

No.

I used to play with 10's, had to switch to 9's trying (attempting ) to play all ben's bends (that sounds funny" all ben's bends ") and vibrato's

Well, 13 wouldn't even be ok for a B string. smile.gif

I finally can play through this whole solo.

I think the hardest parts are the 2 fast runs... the 4-note per string pattern is the hardest with the sliding and finger shifting. The 4-note lick still gives me some problems. Probably could have done a three note per string and then the low note on the G string... but I thought that would take away from the staccato effect? Also added in the harmonies. smile.gif

Very nice, man! I think the last three notes of the harmonized ascending 3-nps lick are supposed to be played at half speed, and you do miss some in the ascending 4-note slide finger shifting thing. But the first fast lick is great, and all in all it sounds super.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, when I listened back to the original I noticed the difference on the harmonized part. I really missed some details throughout...

The slippery 4-note part is a bitch though... Back to the woodshed. biggrin.gif

I had that part more or less down (although now I haven't played it in a while). But I was stuck on the fast diminished run. Also hitting the right frets at the end was a bit of a bitch for me. laugh.gif

Oh wow this is a very pleasant surprise !! This sounds great, I love your interpretation of the licks and the bends, it really cuts the mustard ! cool.gif

It's hard to pick a favourite bit.. I love the muted ascending lick around 0:53.. and that picked bend at 1:12.

I personally found the alternate picked arpeggio near the end the hardest part of the whole solo because I kept hitting the wrong note all the time !! ><

Fantastic work !
