I've been listening to heavy metal for quite some time now and have listened to pretty much every subgenre and tons of artists. But today, for the first time, I was sitting in my chair in front of the computer and just felt the need to stop paying attention what was on computer and start headbanging. The song was Exile by Slayer. No other song has ever caused me to do this. Anyone else have similar experiences?

Judas Priest - Exciter, Deaths version of Painkiller.

In my opinion Painkiller is possibly the greatest metal song ever written. I think that song alone shows what metal is about.

Haha, great thread. biggrin.gif

I don't know why, but Drag the Waters by Pantera has always made me headbang, even though it's slow. Lot's of Dime's stuff is like that.

Any death metal with some groove, and some other stuff. To mention a few songs: Brave New Hell Bloodbath, Rain - Novembers Doom, Deah Explosion - The Crown, Echoes - Cult of Luna (grooviest song ever), , etc. Oh, and Meshuggah the odd days when I can stand their music.

I know lol that is what I am saying. I normally don't listen to Slayer. But today I was just checking out that song and just started headbanging uncontrollably in front of the computer. I don't mean I was on the computer reading forums and what not and just lightly nodding my head, but actually stopping, staring and the wall, and just headbanging or freaking out like you said.
