I wonder if some bands have special SE models made for them, as endorsers. If their fan base is a younger crowd who could never afford the normal PRS range are they asked to endorse the SE range but have a SE models specially made for them not the normal production models.

Akesson did this for PRS. It taught me a great many things about a pro rack. Sounds awesome.. he's a hell of a player |

Akerfeldt talks about this subject very often in his interviews when questioned about his SE. He says that is the same one anyone can purchase from a store. He wants his signature models to be affordable that way everyone can enjoy them. That a really nice thinking! I wonder how good the SE can be. I remember trying one and I don't really like it how it felt, there was a so big difference with a PRS custom 24. But maybe I tried a bad one... what can you tell me about the SE compared to other guitar at the same price range like Schecter or Fernandes? and regarding the topic's thread... every time that I see this video I want an Axe Ultra! -------------------- My lessons

Mate, my Paul Allender is way better for modern metal than the Cutom 24 it may seem strange but it really is Cool! So maybe a PRS Se could be a choice! I would like to have a 24 frets + tremolo bar, guitar. It depends on what you want to do with it. The pickups matter a lot. I cannot think of any PRS I thoroughly enjoyed playing when I walked into a store and tried it. The tone was lovely, but they always felt terrible. However, this can be said with most guitars in stores. I have to take the time to properly set up any guitar before I can be certain that I will enjoy it. I have worked on a couple PRS guitars that friends of mine own(I setup other people's instruments from time to time), and absolutely love them after that. For whatever reason whenever I play a Paul Reed Smith I always want to hear: Aphrodite's Child-End of the World They just give me this really dark vibe that I mesh with really well. Someday, I will be rich enough to own a Custom 24. Maybe I will work really ridiculously hard this summer and get one. It really makes sense mate. Pick ups are really important of course, but I was also referring more to the feel of the guitar into my hands. The SE that I tried felt cheap, don't know why. However I will give it a second chance. -------------------- My lessons
