This is a poll to lobby Kris into giving us a theory board.

Personally I like theory. This could be because my theory is probably better than my technique at present! But I find that it helps you to understand why other guitarists are playing what they are playing. And if you want to write music, but would like to steer away from 'cliche' licks, it's an essential tool. (For instance, when I'm writing, I force myself to stay away from pentatonic scales, or I find that after 5 minutes, I'm noodling out Led Zeppelin solos! Using theory makes me think about what I'm doing, and I tend to write more unusual melodies)

Do you feel the same? If you want a board where we can discuss the technical points of things like modes, scales, harmony, vote YES!!

Come on Kris, give us our theory board !!!!:!: :!: biggrin.gif

it would work and i think theory is just a big a part of music as actual playing.

also i think the lessons archive should have a full theory section as well (not just the theory related to each lesson) that has guides on scales, chord construction etc.

Theory is one aspect of playing that I think every guitarist needs to know. You have to know the rules in order to break them.
