Does anyone here know how to add a media file in the wiki?? There is a button for it, and there also is a [[media:]] tag, but it's not possible to upload the .ogg media... The upload page doesn't take it biggrin.gif

Anyone? I want to add it into my harmonics page!

.ogg I'm almost certain wont be accepted as you need a special plug-in to play them. I'm guessing you may need to change the format to mp3.

Oh, didn't know we could add media to the pages. I've wanted to add some small clips on my Amorphis article, to show the difference between each of their albums =)

I don't think it will be uploadable on this wiki but you never know. Best wait for Andrew or Kris to answer.

I don't know either - I would guess mp3 would work better.

@canis - proably bet not to upload audio clips of bands for copyright reasons.

I just looked and apparently you can have .ogg files. The upload form tells you the code to use.

Kaznie. Did you insert [[Media:File.ogg]] into your text where you change File.ogg to whatever you want the file to be filed as. When you save this it will just leave a link on the page. You click this link and it takes you to the upload form. Browse for the file you want to upload that is .ogg format and upload and it should work. If it doesn't then something is definitely wrong.

I've just tried uploading one myself and you're right there is a problem with .ogg. You might want to ask Kris in his forum or by PM. It says it only accepts png, gif, jpg, jpeg files. Yet the upload page does say .ogg files are allowed. It is weird.

Andrew and I have discussed this a little -

We will not let anyone upload any media file into the wiki - however I hope we can find a technical solution to give certain group permission to upload media files.

As an example - this would allow us to create really cool Student Instructor lessons.

Unfortunately none o fthis is doable at the moment...
