Jan 30 2017, 10:38 AM	GMC:er Posts: 5.667 Joined: 27-May 13 From: Turkey / izmir	Some know I re-adjusted/renewed all my guitar electronics 2-3 years ago. I placed a capasitor value thats more suited for single coils rather than humbuckers, which means the guitar "bleeds" more highs. The tone knob gets used a lot this way if I want a meatier sound, its actually all the way up when I shred so any harmonics gets very obvious and the overall tone is sharper. My tonepot also splits coils... But to me Tele's and LP's are king when it comes to using tonepots. Tele's adjustment is very gentle, tone gets bigger in a very neat way even to some degree not really affecting the output. It was my first real tele experience that really had me focus to the tone pot. LP's are also cool, specially the more vintage voiced ones. The 4 pots has a lot of potential and its worth checking youtube to get ideas. One note though is with high-output PU's its not so useful, as they already sound huge no point to turn them into mud. Sure they can be adjusted like in this video, but after using such guitars mentioned (and pedals) I wasn't personally so impressed. If someone finds his/her pickups muddy, I usually suggest removing the tonepot connection before investing new PU's. Removing will brighten and add edge to the tone but there's a chance one may find it harsh too. You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. So if you are looking for a supper smooth lead tone for example, I would start with the tone knob down instead of cutting away treble on the amp (as mentioned in the video).
