Ive been wondering since ive started playing where actually I need to place my right hand.... like should I let it rest on the strings im not playing, should it just be kinda hovering there, or is there any special placement to it... Any help would be appreciated... Well it deoends on what techniques you are using of course, but a sensible default position would be resting on or near the bridge for instand palm muting ... -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

ahh thanks. Ive normally been keeping it actually on the strings i wasnt playing because that helped stop excess noise from my strings... I guess ill do it the right way though! Nothing wrong with that - muting is an important thing to do - if you keep it by the bridge though you can easily switch from full muting to damping to letting the strings ring. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

My hand is always on the bridge - right at the place where the strings go in the bridge! I can easily mute that way but also i don't mute when not needed!
