I purchased a set of used Yahama DTXpress drum pads this weekend. I did a simple recording last night going directly out from the 1/4" jack into my PODX3 then into Reaper. That was easy.

I'd like to be able to record the MIDI output. Do I need to buy a MIDI to USB cable and plug that into my computer or do I need to buy a straight MIDI cable and go into my PODX3's MIDI In port and let it convert the signal to MIDI then sent it to the computer via USB?

/so confused.

The second option - midi doesn't map straight to USB, you need hardware and drivers to do the job - which is a part of what the pod does for you smile.gif
