Woah that really out of it Brandon! First Coke takes over Christmas and St Nick becomes Santa, now Easter has Bunnies and Spheres, etc. What ever happened to the true meaning! Do people even know the symbol of the egg is or it's it just another chocolate treat now.
Yet we forget: Birth of Christ or for non-believers a re-birth still means a fresh new start forgetting the bad which can't be changed just forgiven and looking onto into the future as a clean start. I'm Christain, but I would have to agree to Sollesnes.
Let's take a look at Christmas and Easter... No one knows the correct dates in the Bible. Christmas is actually picked on the date of the ending of suffering, torture, and murdering - Pagans Feast where they would kill and dance in innocents blood. Nice thing to celerate huh? Easter is mentioned in the Bible, but translated means the 'Pass Over' nothing to do with the birth of Christ. Easter has long been known to be another pagan festival. Okay, I know Christmas and Easter comes from paganism dates, but what you choose to celebrate is entirely up to you. The symbols and meaning surrounding them is focused on Christian believes, which at least is positive (giving, forgiving, starting over fresh, etc).
