Yeah you can "play" simple beats on them...But I would suggest laying down one of preset drum tracks that resembles what you imagine and than editing that midi track to fit your idea (you can use mouse for that easily too).. Then you assign Addictive Drums plugin to that MIDI track. When you do that, choose the groove you like and drag&drop it to MIDI track so you can layout some grooves.
