> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate! I've commented this one at the mentoring thread so I'm here just for grading.

Keep on the good job!

Nice! I like your tone and your take! This rec takes some very serious technical ability and some serious funkability! This requires great hand synch, and requires a really strong fret hand that can shift between chords without a pause.

Compared with the original, his is a bit more dynamic in terms of letting it breathe. E.G. going from a hard pick strike to a soft pick strike in different sections, over different chords, etc. being able to control the dynamics of ones own playing is yet another thing that comes with wads of time on the instrument. I like your version very much just as it is. It's well played and I enjoyed listening to it and didn't see any missed notes, strings noise, timing issues, etc. Solid 8 from me!!

Very nice!

In order to really come close to Stephane's feel here, I would advise you to have your right hand be less like an up-and-down machine - and instead use a softer and more dynamic approach. This will also give you other advantages, I made a video about it for you:

Keep up the good work - you get a 9 from me!
