Didn't even know it was added to the front page until now
But yeah, I indirectly wondered about a concert review forum in the subtitle of that post, but since there wasn't one, the Roskilde post eventually didn't turn into a review either - just a typical post
But yeah, I for one would like a concert review forum. I never read album reviews anymore - they're the hardest kind of culture review to write, and I've yet to find anyone doing a
really good job on them - in papers or on the web. Albums are just difficult to speak of concretely compared to film or literature. Spent a year of university studying (practical) journalism of culture, and I stayed far away from writing any music reviews.
Concert reviews are a different matter, since they often have a frame of reference, which the reviewer and the reader shares - the albums
So a concert is easier to write about. There's something to compare it to. And as an event (as opposed to a "cultural artefact" as our journalism teacher would have called it) they mostly lend themselves to more interesting writing.
But the Roskilde/Muse post still isn't a review
If a concert review forum popped up (and it seems Kris agrees it's a good idea), I might write some real ones
