Looking forward to reading this. A band from my neck of the woods, my friend's brother was part of the management team in the 70's/80's and if they were touring the UK during the six week summer school holiday, my friend got to be a part of the road crew. I wasn't his friend at that time but when I became his friend, his brother was still involved. Heard some great stories.
This is the latest version of the book as up to date as possible.

They were quite big in the UK, and topped the NWOBHM charts a few times but Metallica made their songs internationally known.

Not many people know that METALLICA was a HUGE Diamond Head fan and that much of their early live material was just Diamond Head covers!!

Just to clarify my wife got me this for my birthday last Monday, it's available HERE , 500 copy limited edition, the message and signature are a no cost option.
I think he still teaches guitar at his home in Stourbridge, maybe I should go and get some lessons from him, see if he'd do a few guest Diamond Head lessons for us at GMC

I'm reading through it slowly because it's my bedtime reading and I usually fall asleep after four or five pages

People were like "who is Diamond Head?" I don't think they ever got the international respect that they were due. They helped invent the form that became Metal/Thrash and everything that came after. Metallica loved Diamond Head and played wads of their music during their first gigs. People would come up to them and say how great it was and lars would say "it's just Dimaond Head Covers",
