Guitar Rewired, Is this ok

I got my friend to fix it and it worked fine for a long time. About a year later, the same thing happened so I took it into a shop to have a pro do it. It took forever and he did a really crappy job. The wires were too spaced apart and got twisted up and just came right back off. This time, i decided to fix it myself. I had to solder some wires together because the original wire was not nearly long enough. After alot of pain and suffering, 2 burns on my finger and on the bottom of my foot, I got it to work. I think is sounds even better now than it did before!! Now here is my question. As I don't know anything too technical about wiring and wires, I had no clue what kind of wire to use... I'm agreeing with the others in that when you're done and it sounds OK, it's probably alright. You're not working with a lot of power inside a guitar, nor usually there isn't much in the way of delicate electronics so you're not in a lot of danger of screwing things up. As long as you're connecting the correct things, it should be fine. The only thing that I'd worry about is that if you're involving your feet in your soldering, I'd check and make sure that those connections are soldered well, or they might come apart again. If you manage to burn your feet when soldering you MIGHT be doing something wrong If it works and sounds good it's probably OK. That's what you want I guess. This isn't hi-tech. I got bored and was playing with some hot solder and basically when i was throwing it away it slipped out of the paper i had it on and landed on the side of my finger. At this point i kinda juggled it to where it bounced onto the top of another finger.. Then i yelled and it fell on the ground. While examining my wounds I stepped on it with my heel. Lucky for me i walk around barefooted alot so I have alot of uhh... tough skin? lol im tired and cant remember the word.. its a C word but. w/e yeah i burned the crap out of myself three times!! at least the finger burns were on the side of my finger so i can still finger pick! lol You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick.
