Hi GMC,

This is just a quick question on picking and muting with the palm of my hand.
I palm mute with the part of my hand which is just above my wrist.
I think that it is hindering my playing when standing and when trying to mute strings during scale runs and stuff like that.

Anyhoo I would love to use the same technique as Paul Gilbert does in this video. It just looks so natural but I am having trouble trying to emulate it. Does anyone have any tips on how to do it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi GMC,

When practicing I get an aching pain in my picking arm between the torso and the arm and also on the side of the arm. I get it from keeping my wrist on the bridge and can't relax it because my wrist drops off the guitar sad.gif . Any help would be excellent.

Thanks
Sam

ROCK ON!

Hi all,

My PC has Back Orifice sad.gif and i was wondering, because I know there are some immense brains in I.T here, how I find it and remove it.

The PC is disconnected from the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sam

Hi Muris,

I was blown away by your Extreme Neo-Classical lesson and I would like to learn it but i am simply miles away from that speed.

I could probably play it at 50 bpm now sad.gif but i was wondering if it would be wise to practice this lesson slowly and gradually increase the speed just like an exercise so eventually it would be at (the astounding) 150 bpm. ohmy.gif

It seems like a mammoth task so I'm basically just asking for advice.

Thanks,

Sam

Keep up the amazing work!

Hi,

You are one of my favorite players here at GMC and i wanted to ask :

1)
When you practice alternate picking how do you tell which is a comfortable speed? When i practice i start at a comfortable speed and increase the bpm by 5 and practice at that to see if i need to work on the previous speed more.

The reason for this question is because i don't know what my comfortable speed is.

Also instead of starting another thread in your gear section i want to ask seeing as you are a clear fan of the Ibanez Jems:

A) Is there a difference in the Jem555 and the Jem7V which you play?

cool.gif would it be worth saving the extra money to buy the Jem7V?

Thanks,

B.T.W I love your ionian scale speedpicking lesson, its the main thing I'm practicing! tongue.gif
