GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Announcement: Gmc Community Section

Posted by: rokchik May 31 2008, 04:06 PM

Hey Gmc'ers,

Here it goes folks, my first official announcement since becoming a mod smile.gif To be honest I'm a little choked up, just give me a minute... bites fist... alright I'm good now, just feeling a bit warm and fuzzy inside.

Anyways, I'm not sure if everyone has seen it, but there is a GMC Community section on the main page http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ So what is this section you may ask? Well, as our forum is growing so fast, and there is such a vast array of cool things going on, this section is now where GMC content is going to be PUBLISHED. Yes that's right published smile.gif With over 200,000 posts now made on the forum, how awesome is that btw?, there is a lot of things to read through and well some really great stuff may be missed.

As the moderating team is always reading through the forum, we will now be looking out for content that may deserve a bit more focus. Whether it's a popular thread, an awesome wiki, an entertaining practice agenda, one of the amazing SI lessons, pretty much anything that shows just how great the people here are and just how wonderful our content is... as you can see this is not going to be an easy job as there is just so much cool stuff.

Each week a different moderator will be publishing content onto the main page. And to all members, please feel free to PM the Moderator of that week or add the suggestion to this thread if you see something you think should be added to the main page. We will be announcing the Mod of the Week here as well, so I'll announce now that I, rokchik, will the mod for this week smile.gif As stated please add to this thread any suggestions or PM me if you like. We are hoping to publish new articles at the beginning of each day so the section will be updated often. So keep an eye out to the main page GMC'ers as there will be some cool things showcased, and well it may be something you wrote smile.gif

Hi Rokchik,
I posted a topic on Kris's page about a poll/survey on lessons that are lacking or missing in GMC. Kris agreed that a poll was long overdue. The problem is that there has hardly been any response and I want to give this topic more prominence as it can potentially benefit this great site. The topic is titled "Review of GMC Lessons?". Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi Everybody smile.gif

Todays topics are published on the http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/. Todays picks are a thread started by ActiveX, RIP Bo Diddley on the death of the great bluesman who passed away at age 79 a couple days ago. A huge loss to the music world that's for sure. Also published is an update from bmh1109 on his Rack system build, some nice pics included of his gear.

Congrats guys!

Hello GMC'ers smile.gif

Well I'm just about to head out to the airport but my last order of business is to let you all know that todays topics are now on the http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/. Today we have some great topics on our fabulous instructors Juan and Muris. Juan has released his album Melodic Fantasy:Earlier Compositions for free download via his myspace page, check it out as it is amazing. I downloaded it last night smile.gif And also a great thread from Smells wondering how many GMC'ers are going to cheer on our Muris in the Guitar idol finals on the 14th of June.

Great stuff guys smile.gif

This is my last day doing this but I'd like to announce that Andrew is going to be publishing threads for this week, so if you have any suggestions for him add them to this thread or send him a PM. I've had a great time this past week reading through all the threads and I must say Andrew, it's tough to pick because GMC has great things going on.

GMC so Rocks!!!!!!!

See you all when I get back.

Hey guys, what about a widget of some sort with random member testimonials. We could keep them brief and to the point to let potential members see how joining GMC has improved our playing, or just some personal thoughts on how great this place is? Just an idea..... smile.gif
