Anyone here into lunchbox amps? I love the portable concept, and the fact that many of these can stand up to much larger amps proudly! I owned a Mesa Mini Rectifier for awhile, gigged it, practiced at home, it kicked ass on all levels. Recently the biggest music retailer in NZ asked me to write a promo article for their print magazine which they put out every month. I gladly said yes!! I was pretty excited as it would be the first time that something I'd written would be printed out and circulated to every store in the country! Anyway, for you guys who are far away, I did some clips to complement the review and showcase the variety of tones the Tubemeister can get. Please check it out! http://sixstringsamurai.co.nz/2013/06/14/h...-gear-magazine/ -------------------- http://www.six-string-samurai.com - Gear reviews for the terminally GAS-afflicted.
Thank you to John at GMC for inviting me to hang out and talk gear with you guys! |

Thanks man, glad you liked it!! Always nice to be of some use to someone And I didn't really hear many clips on the 'net of this amp that I liked so I thought it would be better for me to try and get some clips of my own.
Personally I still preferred my old Mini Rec... but of course that is a fair bit more expensive than this little guy! This post has been edited by SixStringSamurai: Jun 14 2013, 09:26 PM -------------------- http://www.six-string-samurai.com - Gear reviews for the terminally GAS-afflicted.

Played this amp just yesterday at guitar center through a ORANG PCC 4x12 and was really impressed. Killer quality tone and power. Very loud/mean and can go clean/soft.
Really cool option for a tube head. Todd Anyone here into lunchbox amps? I love the portable concept, and the fact that many of these can stand up to much larger amps proudly! Played it too at the store and think its great. But man thats a steep price in your countries. You can get the 18 watt version for 499 Euros here. The 36 watt version is 799. So the 18 watt version should cost 424 GBP. I would never buy that thing for £1100.
Ok I am located in Germany and H&K is a German company but thats a crazy princing policy on the side of the company. hmm order it here if you are in GB http://www.thomann.de/gb/hugheskettner_tub...ter_18_head.htm far from £1100. They are selling for £1100. oh ok i am stupid you talked about the mini rec. sorry but anyway test the 36 watt version. Midi, loud as hell. Great high gain and clean sounds. Incredible for £670 http://www.thomann.de/gb/hugheskettner_tub...ter_36_head.htm This post has been edited by ItSME3: Jun 17 2013, 04:57 PM |

How much does this amp sell in your countries Todd and sixstringsamurai. In the UK I have seen the prices vary from £350 to £500 which is a lot. It is also hard to get this amp here I am hoping to get this amp soon and have being surfing the net for best deals and availability and it is proving to be quite difficult. Think it's going for $1099NZD. Most things in NZ will cost more than in other countries, simply by merit of us being so far away! Everything costs more once you have to ship it twice as far... ive heard lots of good things bout h&k when i was looking for a luchbox amp. no one in vegas had this amp for me to plug into and play, but they did have they mini rectifier so i bought that, and love it. listened to you demo of the amp and it sounds good, i thought there were alot of highs but maybe that was just settings and the recording. i think its a cool amp and sounds good the neon blue is a bit much for me though, i think lunchox amps are the way to go these days unless your playing a really large venue. my mini rec is plenty loud for any band and sound great when its cranked, thanks for your review i was always curious about this amp Thanks dude, great to hear your opinion. Haha yeah like I said the blue light will be a love it or hate it reaction from most people! Heh, the highs might just be me, I favour a lot of high end in my tones (helps things cut through). I'm not too familiar with these "lunchbox" amps. Really dig the look of this amp with blue lighting. Cool to read a review with some sound samples. Like the hard rock/ metal lead tones on this amp! Glad you got some value out of it! Look forward to sharing more reviews with you guys - and there are always sound clips to go with them! -------------------- http://www.six-string-samurai.com - Gear reviews for the terminally GAS-afflicted.
