Last month, I Traveled to Chicago to see progressive Nation. was it worth the trip?

Oh, yes.
Read on...

Scale The Summit: Scale The Summit, an all instrumental band, were the openers. Their two guitarists seemed very confidant, and just ripped it up. absolutely flawless performance, which is even more impressive considering the complexity of the music. Played for 30 minutes. Great show.

Bigelf: Next up was Bigelf, nothing too fancy here, just hard rock with keyboards and Prog touches. fun songs, great stage presence, and the guitarist left me wanting an SG. Really fun set.

Zappa Plays Zappa: Wow...Dweezil is a BEAST of a guitarist! they played alot of the more obscure zappa stuff, as well as the "hits", and Mike Portnoy joined them on drums for Cosmic Debris. Great Performance.

Dream Theater:Dream Theater put on the single greatest show I have ever seen. they opened with A Nightmare To Remember, then they played A Rite Of Passage, AND THEY PLAYED SACRIFICED SONS! the encore was The Count Of Tuscany, with an extended Ebow solo from petrucci, and they wrapped up with Schmedley Wilcox. Wow.

Well, there you have it, 6 hours of progressive greatness, and the best show ive ever seen.

I saw this lineup (without scale the summit) August 14th in Toronto! Was sooo awesome. Zappa plays zappa was amazing too!
