Hi there!

Here's my brand new axe, got it exactly a week ago, and I'm quite pleased with it, it's an American Deluxe Strat, maple neck and 3 tone sunburst, with samarium cobalt noiseless pups & S-1 switch. Here's a (bad quality) picture I took:

I always liked strats and knew that someday I'd get one, so the other day I went in my local shop (They have a zillion strats), and I tried several models ranging from american strats/american deluxe and even some signature models. I didn't try custom shop models though, they were too expensive so they were out of question.

After trying several american strats and deluxe I ended up liking the deluxe model better, S-1 gives it versatility and noiseless pickups are a bless, they lose just a bit of twang but I gain a TON of peace in my ears, plus they take distortion better, so they are the right choice for my taste. Guitar finish is just beautiful, the details at the neck joint are better than regular american strats. New two pivot bridge is nice too.

I always liked sunburst strats and maple neck on fenders, so I ordered one, and 10 days later they had my new baby ready, perfectly set-up with a set of elixirs.

An amazing guitar, so different from my SG but amazing in its own way. Time to say goodbye to my telecaster now, I never really liked it much (I have it for sale since march), and there's no room for it since I got the strat!

And that's it, time to play some maiden riffs now! cool.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Beautiful guitar indeed Fran. With that maple board, you should get a little "brighter" tone out of it. Nice! smile.gif

Welcome to the American Deluxe club. I've got the rosewood version. It is a joy to play, and everyone who sees it oohs and ahhhs over it.

Congratulations on a fine new guitar.

So how come you've had it for a week and just now telling us? biggrin.gif
