Hi Guys,
Today for show and tell I have brought along my new guitar! It's been worked on for serveral month's, and now it is finally done. It's a custom build model, build by a british guitar builder, who I befriended on a Jam session a year back. The design, colors and hardware were selected by my own ideas and wishes. I chose black because Iam a black and white guitar kinda guy, and since I already have a white telecaster, this fits in just perfectly .
Some Technical aspects:
- The neck is of the same length and thickness as a standard gibson model.
- The neck runs all the way trough the body, instead of being bolted or... (dunno what its called in english.. ) glued? This provides exelent sustain.
- It has a chrome bridge from Goto, no tremmelo (not really into that stuff yet).
- It has locks on the tuning pegs, wich makes it easy for newbzzz like myself who cannot change their own strings decently
- It has two Semor Duncon Hot rodded Jazz humbuckers, great for both clean and jazzy, as heavily distorted metal.
- It has a series of planetshaped pearlmour inlayed into the neck, with has many diffrent colors.
- furthermore it has the standard podmeters(2), Gibson selectorswitch, and Straplocks
- All hardware is chromed (the jack input also )
- It weighs just over 2,5 Kg, wich is relatively light for a guitar.
- I don't really know how all the woods used are called in english, but the body is Cherry wood or something like that. In Holland we call it "Kersenhout" . The neck would be "maple".
Well that's about it. Im not going to far in technical detail like the exact measurements and stuff like that, cause It would be boring... for me that is...

The inlay is great! never seen that before, is that self designed?
Nice and unique, congrats!
Gratz...Pretty neat looking Axe ya got there
gratz on the new guitar, love the inlay too, excellent idea, really unique
Very cool man, I love the inlays! Congratulations!
Yeah, it does look cool man. Hope it plays and sounds as good as it looks for ya..
Pretty cool guitar you got there!. Gratz
Thanks guys! Really appreciate the compliments! I will be buying some decent recording gear for my PC. So I will be posting some audioclips soon!
I have to get used to the guitar still, because the neck is very difrent from a telecaster (wich I have been playing on for most of my time as a guitarist), but it feels great, and the phrasing is much more fluid .
@Joruus
Yes I came up with the Idea . Some little corrections were added to the builder, but it's mostly still the same as my original design!
I like the fretboard inlay very much! The body too, though I'm not too much of a fan of that shape. It reminds me of an Aria (I think it was - only about 4% sure ) I played in the summer at a friends house though
love the fretboard inlays, way cool!
any chance of hearing how this baby sounds ???
Awesome looking guitar Donny !
I already told you it reminds me of PRS guitars and I really love those guitars.
Look forward to recordings with this one
That guitar looks GREAT! Congrats!
Congrats mate!
Try to upload, if you can, an audio sample to hear it
I really like the look of it It does resemble the single cut PRS models...
Cool looking guitar, specially those inlays, congrats!!
Looks and seems great man!! Congrats on making it (with a luther friend)!
It would be cool to listen to some sound samples!!
Cool Guitar, looks a bit like the Ibanez JS (Joe Satriani) Series to me.
