Well, in the last month and maybe a few weeks I've gathered a nice collection of firewood, just joking more kids!
I guess we will go from left to right.
Ibanez RG570 (color not sure)
Ibanez RG920QM (Black Ice)
Fender Squire Jazz Bass IV (Sunburst)
I just picked up the RG570 a few hours ago! Needs a bit of work as its old.. I mean it is from October 2001! It also made a long trip from the Fujigen factory in Japan! I think the color is lazer blue not sure tho. I must say it was in really bad shape as they had the bridge as high as it could go, then the springs were so tight it brought the back end of the tremolo into the cavity.. Poor thing. It's doing better now all that matters.

Awesome, the moment I saw it got the most of my attention 
many say late 90's to early 2000 ibanez are the best

many say late 90's to early 2000 ibanez are the best This was like... Ok got it home did the minor work that I know to get it back in some what of an order. Then I cleaned it up as it felt tacky, plugged it in and my jaw hit the floor. The pickups don't suck at all, V7/S1/V8 , it plays almost identical to my S770 that I have loved for so many years. Who knows maybe I'll sell the RG920 and look for another one of these different color. So hard to believe that I found a great guitar for the price.

The V pickups aren't bad at all but considered not great too, though not everything on tone is about the pickups I want one too one day Keep in mind upon request, if you like its vibe Dimarzio winds the USA series pickups;

Late 90's when I was in USA a friend had a guitar with those pickups and they were very very good

Good score!! The neck on the 570 is coveted to this day by players from just about everywhere who know their Ibbys. The 920 is saweeeet and gotta say looks amazing. Tell us how they compare! And everyone needs a good bass

Those particular pickups are some of the best they've ever made IMHO. The bridge has an ALNICO 5 magnet YEARS before people were using them in "shredder" guitars very much.I"ve still got the original V pups in my RG560 and they are not coming out.
I do wish my single coils on the 560 had a bit more bite but the humbucker slays The rg 550/560/565/570 were some of the best guitars they ever built imho, and they were all build in japan where now the build the JCRAFT stuff. All their other import guitars often need some love to play well.

RG470 - 1-Piece Maple Wizard II , 19mm(1st) , 21mm(12th) ,400mmR(Radius)
RG920 - 5-piece maple Wizard Premium , 18mm(1st) , 20mm(12th) , 400mmR(Radius)
S770PB - 3-Piece Maple Wizard III , 19mm(1st) , 21mm(12th) , 400mmR(Radius)
RG470: The neck feels as if its a flat thin D neck. Sound is super surprising being stock. It's feels a little lighter than most RGs I've picked up.
RG920: The neck feels thin but thick at the same time, I'm guessing it has more of a C shape to it. Hate the stock pickups (Have to adjust the amps for this guitar to sound better) It's slightly heavier than the 470.
S770: Thin flat D neck (Feels just like the 470 to me regardless of the numbers). Sound is top notch! (Ok... I replaced the stock pickups with BKP Blackhawks.) Obviously it's lighter than the 470.
So now the upgrade area.
RG470: I need to get a tremolo arm as it was missing, I would like new pickup rings and the lock nut / saddle because they looks worn down.
RG920: I need to get a tremolo arm as it was missing... This must be a Guitar Center thing, like losing a sock in the dryer! Needs new pickups.
S770: I need to get a tremolo..... Just Playing! I actually bought it brand new. It just needed pickups and that's already been done.

No worries still a class as it's one of the MIJ Ibbys I"d love any ibby they made in the land of rising sun during that era Congrats on locating the color!!! You've got more Ibanez guitars than I do at this point!!!

You've got more Ibanez guitars than I do at this point!!!I just found another one local, same factory! I'm actually going to drive out and see the condition of it tonight. If it's not all beat up I may have another one on the way. But I may let go of the 920, I rarely play it due to I'm not keen on the neck plus its Indonesian. So better neck.. Better pickups.. I also currently have a Dean Dime-O-Flame in my position also!

The Dean Dime-O-Flame is a friends, I use to own one many moons ago. First guitar I ever bought myself, so I want some nostalgia. Later this month it goes back home when we meet up for a lunch!
Edit: Changed the picture on discovering it really is a RG470. As I placed it in the stand it looked taller than the others. Well that placed it as a 2001 RG470XL Black Perl! 27" scale!

Dude I must say I"m getting Jealous of your MIJ Ibby Collection!!!!! It's been a while since I've seen that many MIJ ibbys in a personal collection. I didn't even know they made the 470 in a 27 inch scale. Nice!! That would make a killer drop tune guitar actually due to the longer scale length, it should hold down tuning better than prestrige just because the neck is a bit longer. But either way

Beautiful Guitars! That blue color is awesome, sort of peal-ish.
Years ago I had an Ibanez with a Wizard neck and I loved it! Out of necessity I traded it for a 5 string bass.
Anyway, I don't know the first thing about Ibanez accept that I purchased that guitar new in 1999, it had 2 humbuckers and a single coil, silver, tremolo and a Wizard neck - it cost $700 back then brand new. Looked identical to your black one.
I would like to get another Ibanez one day, but I wouldn't even know which model to start looking into. I don't know what the difference in a Wizard and a Wizard II neck is - but the Wizard is the neck I would want.
What models are good models in the $700 - $1,200 price range? With tremolo?
I was looking at one of these because it's beautiful, but it looks so thin I would be a little apprehensive.
This is the Ibanez S770PB - Poplar Burl Natural Flat. Also, I don't think I like the plug going into the front of the guitar like a Strat...

I think SPACE MOONKEY owns one of those Burlt tops It's a fine guitar.
In the range you are talking about, any of the "Prestige" Models would be worth a look Ibananez junkies often look for "grail" Ibbys that were Made In Japan in the late 80's and early 90's. These usually go for a sick premium on ebay but you can find them cheaper in pawn shops, craigs list, etc., e.g. from personal sales of previous owners etc.

I'll start with the bad then all positive! I dislike the 920 the most of the 4. The neck is more rounded so it feels thicker to me.
The RG470s are a Wizard and the S770PB is a Wizard II. They say there is a difference of 2mm on the first and 1mm at the 13th. But I honestly can't tell the difference with them because they both have that nice thin flat D neck. Which is probably what you had back then as both my early 2000s have that feeling. Going by all the research I've been doing if it has a pickguard its a RG x50 series, without RG x70 series.
I love my S770, it's not as thin as a typical S-series because it actually has that poplar burl top to it, so it makes it a bit thicker. As for the jack if your using a straight jack it isn't so bad, it kind of is at such an angel on the body that it feels part of the guitar.
My opinion is this, go to a local store and check out an S any of them, believe they all have the same necks. That is about what the old RG MIJ necks are. You can always hit up a Guitar Center and get a used one. Something in the price range of $350-450 would get you a great guitar.

Thanks! I'm trying to see if any local stores have a PRS Allender or Torero to try as they both have thin necks for PRS! I tried the Allender when they first came out, I can't remember how they felt. At that time I wanted thick and chunky necks.
) I"ve never owned a 470 but they looks spiff so I'm gonna start looking for one!I'm really digging them. I can't believe the craftsmanship that they truly have over some of the newer models either!

Hehe! My Allender is pretty much one of the greatest guitars I've owned! I just tuned it into standard, now that I have the Tremonti in Drop C or Standard D, as the situation requires and it sounds amazing
I'm really happy now that I have 3 working man's guitars to my exact liking!

Very nice. I'm not sure what your playing through, but the pickups sound bright and cut through nicely. Not muddy at all.

I dunno about that, I had to channel my inner Guitar Center for that video. You may still want the guitar but not to hear that kind of playing as you buy it!
