GMC Forum _ Recording (Muris) _ Competition For All Members!

Posted by: Muris Feb 5 2008, 07:47 PM

Ok,to say few words and to explain this thread.

Idea is this,post your works here(riffs,solos or both)in MP3,
then I'll pick the winner...

...AND MAKE A LESSON BASED ON HIS RIFF,SOLO OR BOTH!!! biggrin.gif

Do whatever you like,any style!!
Good thing would be to record it with a backing track
but if you're not able to make backing then simply record your guitar.

Please give me some freedom to do small modification to your riff or solo
cause it's supposed to be a BASE for a lesson.
Still, title of lesson will be including name of the member, that rocks!! biggrin.gif

Now let's hear your magic work, good luck to everybody!!!! smile.gif

Deadline is 25th February
It's OPEN for ALL members!!

P.S. To avoid messy thread,I'll delete all replies without uploads, thanks for understanding. smile.gif

Might as well put this recording I did a few months ago into good use...

Wooo!!

No drum machine, so its not perfect at all, and rhythm is really muddy. o well. First thing I actually put together as a whole, never recorded rhythm before (you can tell why)

Here it is though.

Changed the drums a wee bit.

Well i found something interesting in my old music map, a musician friend of my dad came here to jam, and he left his synthesizer here because he had another one, but he didnt came to take his synth for few months, so i toke it to my room and experimented with it in the meanwhile, and came up with this little jam thing, everything recorded by me, also the chords on the synth smile.gif p.s. its not a full completed something but i just wanted to share in this competition smile.gif

Here it is:

Okay, so here is my contribution! smile.gif It's sort of different from the others, with some oriental parts wink.gif Hope you like it, it's my first recording!  Muris_Competition__orientalish_.mp3 ( 645.4K ) : 335

Here is my contribution. Doesn't have a solo or anything, maybe that could be the lesson hehe. I find that when I get stuck in a rut and haven't come up with any new riffs in awhile it helps to try a different tuning for inspiration rolleyes.gif

Hey.

This is a Old song I recorded laugh.gif a long time ago like almost one whole year ago last Feb. ohmy.gif before I was on GMC.

Well, when I first bought my new guitar, this is just something I was messing around with, it's nothing special but I guess the whole Idea is a Wah-Wah lesson perhaps in the style of Zakk Wylde or Slash blink.gif

anyways here it is.

Hello Muris, rolleyes.gif
here is my take for this "competition".
This thing has been very useful for me,
because for the first time I had to "study" something of my own
trying to apply all I've learned in these first 6 months.

Hope you like it.

Cheers
Eddie

 Collage_Short.mp3 ( 1.92MB ) : 348

Here is my entry. It's a blues shuffle. I named it "Collage", since it has hints of various classic songs within it. Some would be Hideaway and Stepping Out - early Clapton when he played with the John Mayall Blues band. It's in the key of G, but switches to B for the fast lead. Now if I can just get it uploaded.....

Hey Muris!

Here's my contribution to the competition smile.gif
It's a piece I made very long ago but never managed to make into a song..
But now that has changed, as I present to you; Rockalicious smile.gif

I recorded the backing tracks at Tronds place, better drumsounds there!
Hope you like it smile.gif
