no, not in the US for sure and other places I expect. Should not happen. Kris should be aware that these guys were not on the ball, and go forward with that in mind, he is running a business. His, but not going to sugar coat this as being something acceptable, to have problems like this for an extended period. It really is not anymore.

edit: Don't get me wrong, I am not telling him how to run his business. However, this is very sub par performance at least in the US, to have a problem for an extended period. A provider should have backup, contingency plans, so this would not occur, alternate contingency plan B should be in place to avoid long outages or degradation of performance. I am really not blaming Kris, I never felt that way. And maybe this will never happen again with his network provider. It should not. Should not have happened even once though, not in this day and age.

I know what you are saying but I am little more understanding of these types of situations unless they occur over and over. That has not been the case here in my experience. I spent 14 days without any power here in Winter 07 and that should have never happened in this day and age either, but it did. Not that that has anything to do with anything going on here ;-)

This is the magic of fkalich ... outspoken, and occasionally rude, but still, very loyal to GMC and an asset in the final analysis - I am sure Kris appreciated your notes on the performance of the server over time, and I also, in all seriousness, add my appreciation - you were fearless in highlighting the problem, but also constructive in helping to isolate it!

And I have been meaning to say this for a while ... I love cats but your avatar scares me unsure.gif

They started having problems again 2 days ago. But seem to just have cleared up. I expect somebody at Leaseweb went to work to fix it, customers (such as Kris) won't keep putting up with this kind of thing forever. The ping really does not tell us much, the numbers are not that different from earlier. Ping is a very small packet, and singular packets. Video packets are large, and associated. I think it is a matter more of them dropping packets, or possibly even Leaseweb server/database issues. But it is working decently at present.
