However my overall impression is that this one is a tad too fast for you - and you are struggling to keep up the tempo. This is generally not a good thing to do, as it tends to give you a tense technique with bad habits hard to get rid off. The good news is that you are not that far away from nailing it. So I would guess this is just a one time 'bite' you took, that was a bit too large for you. But please promise us to stay below your comfort speed when practicing, otherwise there is a major risk your progress will stagnate and you won't really understand why. This is often a case for people who reach a 'plateau' in their playing. I will give you a 5 for this take, but I think that with one more week of slow practicing you will easily nail this one. You are feeling the burn and it shows which always makes a better listening experience. The bad news is I am hearing the same lag, just a fraction behind the beat, that I heard on the previous REC that I just listened to from you. I know you can play this. I've seen you play faster than this in bootcamp. I think maybe it just needs a bit more isolation practice on each section and repetition. Here I note that you are still not comfortable with this fast down picking technique. I see that your hand gets tired and that you need more training in order to play the whole thing at tempo tight and clean. I recommend you to work at slower tempos, or maybe choose some other down picking lessons to train it. This lesson has exposed something I think I would classify as an issue but first let me explain how things are in general. There are several ways of right hand rest and angle adjustment. All of them have some cons and pros. You actual hand angle for this lesson is not ok. It would be great for high strings soloing (palm resting on low strings and muting unwanted noises). I would highly advice to switch and rotate your right hand so the side of the palm would rather rest on high strings. Your palm contact with strings should be slightly loosen so you can still use your wrist rotation for that fast downnpicking licks. You are having problems because you block the most effiecent source of move of your right hand. Also try to make sort of accents os you hand would have harder and softer strokes for exchange. This will help it to have some relax during fast downpicking, while still creating a sound experience of heavy picking. You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick.
