I don't know how many people knows him, but everybody should..
I think he is that guy who will be a legend in the next century, cause he's writing a musical history right now, but because of his not too good support and advertise, or I don't know why, he is not too known these days.
He plays a very unique music, with a very unique guitar playing. I really love his records, dvds, and everything that he made. Aside from Satriani he is the man who developed some new guitar techniques. His music is a great mix of different styles, jazz, metal, fusion, latin, etc. and different techniques, chicken picking, extreme tapping runs, it's just amazing!

Interesting player indeed...
But I think he will be trapped in the same corner as Allan Holdsworth, eg. his music is so complicated that no one really understands it, even that the second one is more like a more blues tune......//Staffay

I don't agree. Holdsworth is too much for me, but Martone's music is very cool. I really enjoy his songs and playing as well, because a lot of times I don't know what's happening in there :-) Wish I could know

Nah, thats what i exactly meant.... Because of that You dont really know whats happen in there, its hard for common people to appreciate this kind of music = it wont be any success.... Only nerds like You and me will listen...
Common guitar players may not understand the genious and the progress of new kind of playing and therefore it will not lead to a success. Allan Holdsworth was around for some 15 years without even made an own record because of nobody really understands what he's doin.... Nowadays, when some guitar players adopted his kind of playing, his fame emerged though. And yes, it can be understandable, but its not easy....

He has 2 LIVE DVD, check it on his website. It's just incredible! Daniel Adair is one of the best drummer that I've ever seen!

He is a monster! His technique is so extreme and it even plays music. I didn't know him so I will check more of his music (and maybe if there is any clinic too!). Thanks for sharing.

My advice is get these records first: Demon's Dream, and Clean. On Clean he plays together with Joe Satriani, Greg Howe, Jennifer Batten and Billy Sheehan! Awesome stuff!

Wow, I have never heard of him. Definitely reminds me of Spastic Ink and Ron Jarzombek as well, but it's still very different. Also the first video is very cool! I'm definitely going to check out more

Whilst I may agree with this thread's title, I can't agree with the above. Jarzombek sure, but Martone's music isn't so "spastic" (yes pun intended) and lots of his songs have a great sense of melody and always tell a story that I think many will follow and appreciate. You don't have to shred to appreciate a good shredder.
I've got Clean, When the Aliens Come and A Demon's Dream - I've not heard one tune that didn't impress me. Not just because of technical skills but for song writing abilities.
