80's "BERLIN" Style patch, updated a bit. Here is a patch I'm using on a cover of METRO by 80's synth pop band BERLIN. I gave it a bit more aggression but kept the 80's chorus wash. Enjoy SOUND PREVIEW IN CONTEXT (Metro by Berlin updated by Anti M feat Todd) https://soundcloud.com/techniqueswithtodd/the-metro-cover-version-anti-m-feat-todd-on-guitar DOWNLOAD PATCH *Unzip before uploading to your eleven rack Mod_Metro.tfx.zip ( 1.32K ) Number of downloads: 353 SCREEN GRAB |

SUPER CHUNK PRESET This preset has a SUPER chunky low mid that has a bit of a MESHUGGAH vibe mixed with a MIKE FORTIN / OLA ENGLUND vibe. Great for palm muted passages. It's a bit of a noisey patch, like an amp turned up to 11. I've got some speaker breakup as well. I want to give the vibe of an amp at the edge of feedback. https://soundcloud.com/techniqueswithtodd/eleven-rack-preset-super-chunk ToddCHUNK.tfx.zip ( 1.35K ) Number of downloads: 334 *The secret sauce is the second post amp parametic eq!! DIABLO III
This patch is just pure evil. It's the Thrash Tone that I just adore. Trying to get most high gain amps to sound this way usually involves a parametric EQ before the gain stage. Same is true here Just in Software. The recording is quick and dirty. Just my iPhone recording in the room. Even with the crappy recording you still get the idea. I wanted to get it recorded and shared asap after I dialed it in. Still sounds decent even through the little iphone mic! Give it a try *Download and unzip then import to your 11 rack. I like it, Todd! Definitely diablo! Do you have a recording with it used in a song or so? Just a small clip maybe with other instruments?

This is a lead patch based on my "Guitar Gently Weeps" patch which folks loved. I'm not using the myasnikov tube preamp in this patch as not everyone has one! Instead I "earballed it" to get the SOLDANO head (which the myasnikov is built to emulate) to sound as close as possible to the myasnikov tube praemp. It ended up sounding pretty spiff! Give it a whirl

Steve Lukather "ish" tone! Yup, the guy from TOTO. He loved his SOLDANO amps in the old days. He even had Mike Soldano himself build one of the first 3 channel preamps EVER constructed. It was meant to save Lukather from toting his Marshall (crunch tone) Soldano (lead tone) and Fender Twin (clean) to every gig. Thus the X88r switching 3 channel preamp was born and the industry was changed forever. This is my tribute to his lead sound.
Steve_Lukather_.tfx.zip ( 1.33K ) Number of downloads: 263 *I'm using the neck pickup here so it's not as trebley as lukathers vid, and my delay setting is not quite as crazy. Here is a video of Lukather back when he was using a mesa with his big Bob Bradshaw Rack. He later put a Soldano x88r in his rack and it got a bit smaller for ease of travel but his tone remained about the same. Here is a comparison vid with an actual vintage Soldano X88r and a Kemper with a profile of the X88r and an AXE FX with it's own version. The tone of the Soldano lead channel is semi legendary. Its what I like about the 11 rack that it has a very good emulation of the Soldano lead tone. This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Sep 27 2018, 07:09 AM |
