Hi

i must replace my Jackson's string, because they are old....

but i m not experimented about string gauges with floyd roses axe.

i usualy play with ernie ball 9-42 on my LP , is it good for the RR ?

Should be fine, Jackson's go out of the factory with 0.9 strings anyway as far as I know. Though you probably will need to adjsut intonation and maybe the floyd angle whatever new string you use if you don't want to continue with the old ones brand/thickness.

But I don't know the brand and gauge if the actual string because I have buyed the axe with that string on.

I am sure buying a set of vernier calipers will allow you to measure the string gauge easy enough. Should be able to pick a set up for cheap and very handy to have.

You can use whatever you want but then your guitar needs to be calibrated, preferable by a professional. Then, if you keep the same brand you don't need to make too much adjustment every time you change strings.

If you use standard tuning on this guitar, 09 is ok, as well as 010 if you prefer thicker strings.

9s are a good call and I'd say try SUPER SLINKY if you have not already I love them!

Why didn't I think of that? I can never keep track of what strings I have on my guitars. I should have one of those in my studio. Thanks for the idea!

I recently have the SUPER SLINKY's on my strat and love them too!
On my LP I still prefer 10s
