Hi all smile.gif

Since i'm a huge Metallica fan, i thought i would try to get a little collaboration going in the style of Metallica and Kirk Hammet.
I've made a backingtrack kinda similar to what you would find on The Black Album,
and with that i'm hoping you all could put forward your best pentatonics and blues-inspired Hammet solos to fill it out smile.gif
You can try other things aswell offcourse.

I'm setting 15 participants for now, but if there's more thats interesting in joining in, then i will offcourse make some extra openings.

BPM: 150
Attached File  metallica_collab.mp3 ( 638.57K ) Number of downloads: 458

Since I'm lazy and don't want to figure out the chords.

Wanna tell me what the progression is?

Or at least the key smile.gif.

Yea, it's basically Eminor
Chords used on the first section are : E5, G5, A5, Bb5. Then the root is raised to a F#, but the rest is the same, then back down again.

+1 to that. I need to work on my speed and its a cool sounding backing track. cool.gif Great job! Plus I happen to be learning the key of Em now. I'll do my best to give you something good. Not sure it will be Hammet style though. laugh.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
