Decided to just take four measures at a time, and then see how it goes.

Just one thing, you did one small sweep both times
when going from note E(A string) to note C(A string).
Try to keep it alternate,it'll be easier latter on
to get accents on first beat of each bar. smile.gif

Wait, so sometimes you should alternate pick everything? I always economy pick when I change strings.

Oh ok, I always though you were supposed to take the shortest distance when changing strings. I guess that's something I have to work on now. And now I finally know the real difference between alternate and economy picking lol.

Well, the point IS to find shortest way or distance when changing strings.
But please analize video that we have above.
That sweep is shortest way at that point, but what next?
You can't sweep a lot from there,
you'll try with alternate but your motion is already in "wrong" direction
just because of that one tiny sweep. smile.gif

Ok, so usually you want to start down stroke when moving to lower strings and upstroke when changing to higher strings (economy picking). But in that special instance, you would make an exception and alternate pick. Is that right?

Yes,specially when you have rapid and constant exchange between 2 strings,
if you get into "wrong" direction then your wrist might really suffer. smile.gif

Thanks for clarifying Muris, I just wanted to clarify because I was worried my entire picking technique was wrong or something.

Oh, and sorry for interrupting your thread Cael!

There is no right or wrong actually,
just try to make it easier for yourself
while keeping healthy tone and attack.
Many players would play the same lick with different picking,
it needs adapting all the time.

Sorry for spamming tho, keep it up! smile.gif

Eco gives a slightly lighter feel. for plain rough AP, up down every single pluck.
