Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey Vampire ! cool.gif

This is a really strong take.. the timing was a little hesitant in some places when the drum beat kicked in but you warmed up nicely.

You play a different bend than Marcus at 0:43. His version uses a whole tone bend but you play a semitone. Not sure if you intended it but either way you made it sound as if it belonged there so no worries.

Things to work on would be bending and vibrato. You're quite good at these things but they can be improved to make your next REC even stronger smile.gif

I agree with Ben smile.gif your take is good but it would be awesome if you would work a little bit more on the articulation elements, namely bending and vibrato.

The vibrato has to be wider and rounder, as at this point it sounds a little too sharp.

Keep up the good work and you'll be rocking harder in no time wink.gif

I think it sounds good on single notes, but when you introduce bending and vibrato problems occur. Not sure why, but I think one of the problems is that you keep your fretting hand thumb fixed on one position behind the neck. The thumb position must shift depending what you play, so if you need more support for a strong bend or vibrato, push the thumb upwards to counter the force of the string bending.

Also, I like the way you played the take, in standing position, I think it's the proper way to do it. What you need to improve a bit is attitude, try to really be confident enough so you don't need to have your eyes locked to fretboard all the time, and be a bit more relaxed.

All in all, good take, I'll give it a 8 because you were standing, otherwise it would be 7.
