Hello guys,

I work as a bike technician for a major retailer, so my day consists of building and repairing bicycles, motorized ride ons, etc.

Today started out pretty normal: I punched in at 8 am started to do my parts orders and morning duties - 10am comes (the time when we open) and what do I hear instead of the usual mix of horribly catchy tunes playing in the store... Christmas music... and it's not even Halloween!

'Tis the season!

8 hours later I punch out and as I am walking to my car what is that I see? Oh yes, it would appear that I have a flat tire... lovely!

One can of Fix-a-Flat and 4 miles later: I arrive at my local mechanic for him to take a look and see if it's fixable or if it needs to be replaced.

Not being the luckiest man alive - had to be replaced - but not before he showed me my front tires which were both dry rotted on the inner halves and starting to crack and split. "Might as well replace all four and get the discount, or I'll be seeing you not too long from now"

Four tires, a complimentary wheel alignment and $400.00 later - here I am.

Hmmm, I can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for me. dry.gif

Just thought I would vent and share my eventful day with you fine folks, hope you guys had a much better day!!

I know it's painful to have to unexpectedly have to shell out that kind of cash (don't ask me about the ice that fell off my roof and smashed my windshield), but look at the positive fact that you're now driving on four new, SAFE, tires, instead of being unaware of a problem, and potentially having another flat, or a lot worse!

I agree, very painful but nearly as painful as getting into an accident on the highway if left unnoticed!

Thanks for helping me see the glass half full instead of half empty.

Tough luck, man. However, always remember the following snippet of lyrics:

For any day that stings
Two better days it brings
Nothing is as bad as it seems

That was an eventful day! I really hate when such things happen, especially car troubles.
Why can't they make simpler vehicles designs with less parts so you don't have to fix them all the time?

Hexa has a very good point though - tires are extremely important part of the car and can make a huge difference.
Good thing is that you won't have to think about it for quite a long time anymore. Especially now that the winter time is around the corner (or already arrived). I never put much thought into tires and replacing summer ones with winer ones until I've done some research and watched youtube clips about it. The difference is huge when bad weather hits.

Do you think the Christmas playlist will stay on? smile.gif
I'm personally a fan of hearing Christmas music around, it gets me in the "mood", even if its too early.
