Thanks and same here man
Everybody looks like they have a very happy family.Time does fly with kids,my daughter is already 6 and cant believe how she has just became her own person and i made this wonderfull child.Same with my son 1 year old already and i long for the day i can get him prepared to learn guitar from me and smoke me before his 16th b-day
I would like my daughter to play but feel i wil just have to let time tell, one thing that makes it hard though is she's left handed
Man i hope my son doesnt end up being left handed.I put a guitar in my daughter's hands and it's like so backwords to me,she's got the long finger's though and maybe i can get her into piano.I would dig for her to jam some clasical stuff with me on piano and me on guitar.
Oh dude about the diaper's, i will never miss that
.Im not one of those dads that just watch mom do it i change atleast 6-10 diaper's a day.I pray for the day of potty trained

I know
I thought my daughter could just try to learn right handed anyway especially since she used both hands to write starting out but she gets funny about it when i try and get her to tun it around. She really doesnt play,i dont pressure her but she just doesnt pay attention when i try and teach her something.Sheloves using the words i know i know dad.
So i just decided to wait till shes older or if she asks me i will show her.

I'm left handed and I have been my whole life, but playing guitar right handed isn't really a problem for me. It probably won't be if you start young
I'm left handed too. I don't play left handed though. Some things just don't work for me left handed and guitar's one of them. That's probably a good thing...looks like shopping for lefty guitars is a pain. I know that it was a pain dealing with lefty scissors in school.

There plenty of websites that you can resize your pictures for free and even some have been mentioned in this post. were's one i use www.shrinkpictures.com .All you have to do is scroll down then there will be a section that says browse, click it and it will let you search through your computer for pictures you want to shrink (one at a time). After you pick the pickure you want just go down to finish, you dont have to mess with the pixels and size as it is already set to display good size. There after you click to do it you will get a finished product, right click the picture with your mouse and select save as.Type what ever you want to save picture as then all you have to do is upload it on here its ready to go

Dan, they are animated gifs - you need to find a good one than you treat it just the same as any regular picture - the animation is built in, the trick is finding a cool one

We have one cat, My Black lab got sick with the pet food thing and we had to put him down a few months ago, he was only 7. Really ticks me off that I can't sue the dog food company and get some revenge for him. They are sheletered from any real law suit and from any crimes because it was only a dog. POS purchasing agent should be shot for using inferior ingredients from china! Sorry but I really miss my dog.

BoBo likes dogs, he grew up going to the dog park every day. But I know he would not want another dog in the house, he likes dogs, but likes being an only dog. All he has ever know is cats (I had 6 when I got him as a puppy) so he just considers cats as part of the normal scenery. I would never feel sorry for BoBo, he gets to go everywhere with me, basically if I can't take BoBo, I probably don't go.

That is sad. I suggest that you get on the Humane Society's web site and join their mailing list. They are a powerful lobby, and work to get animal protection laws passed in congress effectively. For example, they are responsible for making dog fighting a federal offense, passing laws to that the next time we have a disaster relief workers are required to save the pets, all kinds of things. They notify you when they need you to email your congressman and senator, make it easy for you. You are right, traditionally pets have had little protection, and they are family to us, and deserve a great deal more protection. The humane society is the main force working towards that end.
edit: The advise that my father gave me years ago when I called him, crying when my dog had died, was "get another one". I feel that way, you will always remember your lab, but there is another dog out there that needs you, and I am sure your lab would want you to take him in.

I feel ya man. My son is 5 and I got him started on guitar about 4 months ago. He's hot and cold with it but when I try to show him something he'll just walk away. One day he walked to the other side of the room and turned his back to me. Pretty frustrating but I don't pressure him. I have started doing my own video lessons just for him and that works OK since he's able to watch it while I'm at work. It's crazy that he's 5 and he already thinks that me and my wife know nothing and he knows it all. I've gotten to where I don't really show him much of anything.....I just let him plug into my amp and make as much noise as he wants. I just feel like if he picks it up for just 5 minutes everyday it'll make a difference in a few years. On the left handed deal _ I'm left handed and felt totally comfortable holding a guitar left handed but realized before I ever got one that right handed would just make things easier if I could adjust. I knew that I was getting my first axe for Christmas when I was 13 so I had this plastic henchmans axe from Halloween that year that I started holding as if it were a guitar right handed and by the time I had my own I had adjusted to the feel of holding a guitar that way. Worked for me and that henchmans axe made feel like Gene Simmons when I was holding it

Thanks for the sentiment and I will look them up and see what they are all about. We have been thinking about getting a "Sheltie" but my wife is not ready for another dog yet. She was the one who didn't want to get a god in the first place, then it was she who the dog was attached to the modt, lol. She won't admit it but she really loved that dog.

Awesome dude
So your left handed and play right?Man i can relate to what you say about your son so much, especially the part were he knows more than you and your wife put together
.Whats going on now a days?I didnt knwo everything till i was 13
its picking up much quicker these days.My daughter just turned 6 in July and the past few months i will be honest it has been a nightmare
Breaks my heart because i have to disapline her so much but she doesnt listen to anything i say ,i could say dont do this and before that same minute is up she would do it.As for the guitar i thinjk thats the best way to go about it like you are right now.I let my girl just play around like that on a cheap acoustic and it seems if you just let them do it and dont try to make them learn something thats when they want to
.One thing i do though is never let her play my electric,.i tell her she must learn to play on acoustic first and tell her if she learns i will buy her any guitar she wants.I would to man just to have her and one day my son play i would sell everything i got to go buy them any guitar they would like just to have them dedicated to something and keep them out of trouble, well atleast some trouble
Thanks for your post man enjoyed reading it,nice to know when you can relate to someone

You will definitely want to keep your shirt on when interviewing for a job, the blood dripping axe might spook um.
edit: fixed spelling on "axe". I had spelled it as "ax" but that did not look right. But the forum spell checker disagrees with me, and thinks "axe" is wrong. However, it appears that most of the civilized English speaking world spells it as "axe", so I will go with that. This was very important, really worth spending 2 minutes of my life on.

Just finished going through the thread again. Its now 10 pages long. On one of those pages there was a sub-thread about lefties. I don't recall which one, and going back to find it is a pain. I just want to say to whomever wishes their child wasn't a lefty, DON'T. There has been a number of studies that demonstrate that as a whole, the population of left handed people has a significantly higher IQ. Its not a statistical anomaly, its a well documented fact. It has to do with the way their brain is wired. I was very pleased when I discovered my son is a lefty. (Btw, I'm not )

Schecter is definitely worth a try. I use a Schecter Damien-6, and it is damn nice to play on. Very thin neck which are easy to play on. The sound is terrific, and almost everyone of them (everyone I know of), has some sort of EMG-pickups. My Damien-6 has EMG-HZ - which I really don't know if are passive or active

Your not the only one. But the ibanez's i've tried in the past weren't that great so i decide to stay with gibson. Unless I tried a really cheap model or somtin not to sure what it was but i can tell you it didn't feal to great.

I dont think you do.
From what i have heard from you you play a blues, classic rock, alternative sound right? If your not a big shredder or soloist them your Gibson is more than enough a guitar for your style.Plus you got a Jackson Warrior that you can use for heavier music so unless your getting into the shred i dont see why it would be nessisary.
Yes an Ibanez would be perfect for what i like metal shred, thrash, dive bombs from hell ect.I think thats why ibanez is so recommended here because many play solo or heavy style.

No it's not my band - it's a funk band I have had two gigs with. It's really challenging because i haven't played that music - also it's nice because it's straight forward 4/4 which I haven't done much of. That really allows you to
jam! as opposed to beig constantly close to getting lost..

DR makes a rainbow set for beginners to help them distinguish which string is which. Thought about getting some for my son but it's very difficult to find a dealer that keeps them in stock. If you download DR's product brochure (.pdf) you can find all the details in there. I also like to use the coated and colored DR's some.

well its a band from Argentina made up of 3 guys that are like 13 or 14 year old. They are very popular on youtube, if you type "Los gauchos de acero" or "gauchos" you can see some of their videos. They are very amazing for their age. I think their bass player is like 10 and he's really good.
Well, check them out when you have time and tell me what you think

You sure seem to have great stage moves!!! I'm a stiff on stage, just stand there. How do you manage cool moves making them look natural?
When I try something it just feel redicilous and since I think that I rather just stand still.
How do you just let go?

You just have to.. well, let go
Gabe may well be thinking, MAN! I look so stupid, what a stupid face, what was I thinking in that picture!?
When we all know Gabe looks the part of a rockstar, basically I think if you play your thing as well as you can, most of the faces etc you make will be pretty cool looking
Or even silly but in that good way. It may look funny if you have like, a weird picking style or something, but if you really want to look cool just let go and play your thing. Keeping your guitar around the waist helps too

Well MickeyM I just
believe in my music
When I say "believe" I mean that my music is made with honesty, from my heart, so I can play it How I want and Who can tell me anything!... If I feel my music and my body wants to represent my feelings... what's wrong with that?
Another important thing is that when you are playing in live you have the power!... you are in the stage and the other people don't! ...So take advantage and enjoy it of being in a place that to the whole world would like to be! Be confident! and believe in your music... If you believe... all the people will believe too

Thanks, that's a great answer! I know now what you mean, I'm playing in a coverband and some songs are just boring to play which makes me put less energy in them. Some songs I love to play so there I add more energy and really deliver them good!
I think I will have to work on adding a bit on confidence, like you said, I'm the one on stage with the power.
You know what I will do next, I will change how I play the covers I don't like so much. I will play them the way I like instead of just playing them on routine with no feeling for them. I'll do it my way and feel and belive in the songs.
I will keep this in mind for the next rehearsal and try to feel, belive and play all songs in a way so I can enjoy all of them.
